Generals News · Swimming County Recap

Thank you to all of the swimmers and volunteers that made this year’s Gwinnett Championship one to remember! Not even the weather could stop our swimmers from their destiny this past weekend. We had almost 100% improvement in times from Prelims to Finals and some personal best times were achieved as well.

Relays:

The Boys A & B Relay teams showed up to kick bubbles and take names. The A relay team shaved off an impressive 4.5 seconds between prelims and finals on their Medley Relay and took 13th place. But, the best was yet to come… in the 200 Yard Free Relay where they placed 10th and got on the podium! In addition, they were a mere 1.13 seconds away from a state cut, each swimmer dropped time in the final and Ethan McKinsey busted out a 22.79 second 50 Free, a personal best.

The Girls were also primed, placing 15th in the Medley relay with a 2.8 second improvement from Prelims to Finals. They also finished 16th in the 200 Yard Free Relay and the 400 Yard Free Relay. We’re excited for the showing that they gave and are expecting a lot from our girls relay teams next year as most of the swimmers will be back!

Individual Events:

Several Shiloh Swimmers also participated in individual events and represented Shiloh well.

  • Ethan McKinsey placed 12th in the 200 Yard IM and 16th in the 100 Yard Fly (personal best time) and will represent Shiloh during the State Meet on February 2 – 4th at GA Tech in these two events.
  • Evan Swain made it to the finals in the 200 Yard IM where she placed 18th and shaved off 1.7 seconds plus swam the 100 Yard Breast.
  • Clarke Swain represented during the 50 Free with a time of 28.72 and the 100 Yard Fly with a time of 1:16.08
  • Parker Allen made his first individual County appearance in the 100 Yard back and finished with a 1:10.65
  • Korahlee Pierre made her first individual County appearance in the 100 Yard Back as well, finishing with a 1:15.47 (-1.88 seconds)

Congratulations to all our county swimmers and good luck to those moving on to state! Full results are attached.
